It's hard not to get swept up by the plenty of fist-pumping anthems on Armageddon Sunrise. One Bullet Left are pistol whipping the listener with twelve tracks that are catchier than herpes. These are the kind of songs that get the blood rushing... in a good way. I mean, most of the songs are so awesome they can probably cure cancer.
The album is a burst of chaotic energy, but the band manages, admirably, to keep enough dark - read: metal - edges in that melodic sound of theirs. Though the metalcore influences are apparent, this stays far away from the plenty of stale and reheated affaires out there.
These were fifty minutes of modern melodic death metal that, for a change, didn't make my brain bleed. Instead I even believe this band has all the potential to leave an impact on the listener that is about as powerful as a sniper shot through a brick wall. I'm well aware the melodic death metal label carries quite the negative connotation nowadays, though this album is vastly superior in almost every way imaginable to a lot of the material released in this genre.
Neat way to make a debut.

Seriously?? I've seen them live two years ago and they were very generic back then and totally immature in both songwriting and personality. You make it sound as if they have evolved quite a lot. Will have to give them another try then, I guess.

I prefer the egneric thrash of the dutch One Bullet Left to the generic moder so-called melodath from this bunch. At last the dutch band has their young age on their side.

Well, I was wondering how this band would do live. Wouldn't be too surprised if they sound like your description. I mean, for one, the sound on the album is way too polished - it would be very hard to come across the same way live. I haven't heard their demo, but I read in a German review they did indeed make some progression.

I'm on the fence; it's generic but it's catchy. I'm not sure what to think overall, but I know I don't think it's bad. Maybe more listens will give me a more concrete opinion.

Interesting review. And from what I could hear of them, looks like they made their own sound and certainly puts them apart from the modern death/metalcore scene in general. Its good to see some talent once in a while. I'm getting this for sure.
