My Dying Bride - Lineup Changes, Tour Dates Announced

Original bassist Adrian Jackson of My Dying Bride has left the band. He's left for a future in the USA and doesn't seem to have plans for My Dying Bride. He annouced his departure to the band on the 5th January.

Here is a statement by My Dying Bride:

"We have parted in good faith and wish him luck with his new life out there. It has absolutely no effect on any of the gigs we have confirmed. We have already rehearsed his replacement to gig readiness and she is looking forward to playing for the first time in My Dying Bride. More on his replacement, Lena, soon.

Secondly we have had to replace long term stand in drummer / thunder truck / Uberlunatic John Bennet due to his work commitments. He is saddened by the fact he cannot drum for My Dying Bride anymore as are we, but we understand that we all have to make a living and wish him luck too in his job.

It's not all doom and gloom though as we have been rehearsing with excellent drummer Dan Mullins of Thine, Bal Sagoth and Sermon Of Hypocrisy fame and again he too is now at gig readiness. MDB has a new fresh focused feel to it and we are looking forward to the shows with a vengeance".

The upcoming shows that My Dying Bride will play will be:

23.03.07 - Petofi Csornok, Budapest, Hungary (Metalmania Festival)
24.03.07 - Spodek, Katowice, Poland (Metalmania Festival)
20.04.07 - Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands
21.04.07 - Pestpop Festival, Wieze, Belgium
16.06.07 - ArtMania Festival, Sibiu, Romania
11.08.07 - M'era Luna Festival, Hildesheim, Germany (Flughafen Drispenstedt)
12.08.07 - Summer Darkness Festival, Utrecht, Netherlands

According to the band, sadly Shaun Steels has decided to part from MDB. His continuing illness shows no sign of abating and he feels the uncertaintly could be having a negative affect on his relationship with the band members. His statement below:

"I would just like to salute MDB for the good times and wish them all well in the future, I feel I am not ready to fulfill the duties in a manner befitting MDB at this time and have decided to stand down. I am sad to be leaving but at this time I feel it is for the greater good of the band. Tak! The Winter."

MDB would just like to say thanks to Shaun and to say we are sorry to see him part, but fully understand his position. Good luck Shaun.

My Dying Bride - New Video Posted Online

Doom/Death Metallers My Dying Bride have posted a new video online. The video is of their new song 'Deeper Down' which comes from the band's upcoming album "A Line Of Deathless Kings". Deeper Down was also the first single from the album. The video was directed by Charlie Granberg.

Here is a comment by Granberg about the video:

"The video is about a guy that is so filled with grief and self pity that he sees the world as totally black, even though you get a hint in the beginning of the video that it's summer and all. Then his visions and view of the world takes over. And it just gets darker and darker from there. Is he about to commit suicide or just taking a swim? That's up for you to decide. I have tried working on a subconcious level with a lot of symbolism and metaphors, but still trying to make it somewhat documentary-like and believable."

My Dying Bride - Screenshots From New Video Online

MY DYING BRIDE have uploaded screenshots from their video for the track "The Blue Lotus" at this location. The clip, which was directed and conceived by David Palzer, will be included on the group's upcoming "Sinamorata" DVD, tentatively due early summer via Peaceville. In addition to the "The Blue Lotus" video, "Sinamorata" will include live footage (12 songs) shot on November 2, 2003 in Antwerpen, Belgium, as well as backstage extras, the "Prize of Beauty" promotional clip, two videos made by MY DYING BRIDE fans ("Hope the Destroyer" and "My Wine In Silence") and a photo gallery featuring fan-created artwork inspired by the band's music.

As previously reported, MY DYING BRIDE's reissue of their first DVD, "For Darkest Eyes", has been delayed until the fall to avoid confusion with "Sinamorata". Focus now lies on a three-CD box set, featuring two new remixes, which is being released in May.

MY DYING BRIDE's eighth studio album, "Songs of Darkness, Words of Light", was released in February 2004 through Peaceville Records. The follow-up to 2001's "The Dreadful Hours" was recorded and mixed at Academy Studio in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire with producer Mags.

My Dying Bride - Working On A New DVD

My Dying Bride are busying themselves preparing for their next full-length DVD release, planned for spring 2005. They are working with David Palser again to produce a new video clip exclusively for this release. The track is "The Blue Lotus" and "it is going to be a stunning work," according to a posting on the group's web site. "A great new photo shoot by Lady Morgana has also been completed, which shows the band like you have never seen them before. Expect to be amazed. The previously available DVD, 'For Darkest Eyes', has been repackaged and will be available at a special price from March. If that wasn't enough, we're also expecting the writing of a new studio album for 2006 release."

My Dying Bride - video posted online

MY DYING BRIDE's video for the song "The Prize Of Beauty" has been posted online here (courtesy of Launch.com).

An eagerly awaited return to film for the band, the clip was shot over two days using the famous Rio's nightclub in Bradford as a studio. Using one of the band's massive backdrops, the main dancing space of the club was reportedly transformed into an area lit and set for video filming.

"The Prize Of Beauty" comes off MY DYING BRIDE's eighth album, "Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light", available now through Peaceville Records.

Recorded at Academy Studios under the watchful eye of Mags, "Songs of Darkness, Words of Light" features what is being described as the six-piece band's most commercial song to date ? the graceful "My Wine In Silence". Album artwork was conceived by Andy Green, who has previously worked with the band on 1996's "Like Gods of the Sun"

My Dying Bride on vinyl

We are very proud to announce that we've licensed the upcoming My Dying Album from Peaceville for Vinyl. It will be released in Gatefold and Limited to 1,000 copies. Release date for the Vinyl is March, 29th.

"Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light" is the eighth studio album for the band and has been described as a work of epically dark proportions. Majestic and downright heavy, the songs are bonded with a strong central gloom that runs throughout.
The artwork was designed by Andy Green (who also designed the cover for Like Gods of the Sun), and the album was recorded and mixed with Mags, at Academy Studio in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Infinite Vinyl Series is a The End Records imprint, specializing in releasing out-of-print and new releases on vinyl.
