O' Canada! (Ordered By Years)

Good day folks! T'day, I just wanted to share the best of what Canada has to offer when it comes to Metal, eh. It seems a lot of people don't yet know that Canada's a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the heavy stuff and I'll show you just how much!
The main goal here is to help people discover the history of Canadian Metal through time and amazing releases. To do so, I'll be listing a single album per band and order the list by year of release from oldest to newest then I'll identify the genre for each of them. Note that the albums chosen aren't necessarily the best of each band but my personal favorites and in my humble opinion, good points of entry into a band's discography. I will try to fill each gaps in years over time and add new bands as I discover them. (So this list is permanently under construction). Also, as always in my lists, releases with a ''★'' are the ones I believe you shouldn't miss because of their impact, uniqueness or just because they are my favourites. There is a lot of different styles, I did my best to diversify so there should be something interesting for everyone! - - - - - - - - - - To my fellow Canadians, if you have recommendations or wanna point out obvious albums I might have missed, please feel free to let me know. Wow, so many bands from Canada! Wasnt really aware of that I have to admit. I am a bit surprised not to find Overthrow's absolute thrash gem Within Suffering here, more so since the list comes from an exposed thrash fanatic.

Plus its tech thrash... Its almost like you know me  Not a big fan of the Droid album though. I'll check more of your recs and keep ya posted. So yeah Im adding Obliveon. Edit: M'kay In the Death section, only one I love is First Fragment's Gloire Eternelle. Very original take on tech death. I absolutely love the bass.

Good effort, lists zeroing in on a certain locales are always fun. See some albums in here I love, some I don’t know about, and others I know are good but aren’t quite my preferred type of metal. One suggestion: if you want to go all in with this, expand the chronology a bit. Pretty solid dent in it overall, and lists with 200 + albums can get excessive, but I noticed a few years you didn’t have any albums for at all, and I’m sure there was other stuff going on in the Canadian metal sphere during them.

Thanks a lot for the comment and feedback, I do agree there's definitely gaps that I could fill in the Canadian metal timeline and I'll work on it for sure. Also, its a fun thing to do because even I am discovering albums as Im making this list. I just wanna make sure that I don't fill the gaps with albums that are mediocre, otherwise it could easily become that 200+ list of "meh" releases. I want some quality Canadian metal y'know. As for the length of the list it doesn't bother me really, as long as the quality standard is respected. I mean, you've probably seen my thrash list hahaha, not scared to go large. Edit: Also, I realize I could probably fill the gaps with releases from a band already featured, but I really wanted it to be a list that helps discovering bands more than solely albums (and try to hook people to them by suggesting great material from said bands). But I don't know I might eventually go back on that In order to cover every year if I don't have enough different bands to do so. But yeah, I'm gonna keep working on that thanks again!

Just added an album that came out this year from my city. Dissimulator - Lower Form Resistance They make some great tech thrash/death. Go listen to this folks. Also added this hidden gem of a prog heavy metal album from 1986: Sacred Blade - Of The Sun + Moon Also another overlooked and hidden gem that is very unique: Beyond - Quantum Bummer (this one is progressive thrash)
