So I Heard You Like Opeth... My other lists:
Tasty Stuff Not Currently Featured On MS Most Talented Vocalists In Metal "Which bands sound like Opeth?" It seems that perennial question has plagued fans and non-fans of the band alike since their inception. I have created this list in an effort to guide those hapless souls to the answer. Feast your eyes the exhaustive list of bands who take the word influence too literally (barring the obvious) for the better or...for you to decide. Enjoy and don't hesitate to recommend any bands fitting this description. Links to all bands not currently featured on Metal Storm are provided below: Adeia Orion (IN)

Kvlt, Meet Riff: Blackened Doom And Sludge Had been wanting to do this for a while, title's pretty self explanatory. Black and doom are my two favorite metal subgenres, and when the two are combined into pure melancholic chaos, I scream like a little girl. I decided to take a broad approach with this one and include blackened sludge bands as well, as I think doom and sludge have similar origins and can fall under the same general banner. *Translation: I don't care if you think they can't. As usual, suggestions are both warmly welcomed and appreciated. Limit one album per band.

The Best Of Dissonant Metal Metal art of dissonance as I love it.
Rules: - on album per band, unless the band has very different albums. -I'm not picky for albums released before 2000. -I'm not picky for genres that are to some degrees unusual for the dissonance, like sludge metal. This list is open to suggestions.

The Grindlist (or Best Of Grindcore) Because I felt like it and because I can. Not necessarily in order.
Viewer discretion advised: May cause headaches to Napalm Death/Carcass worshipers. And pretty much anyone else who can't bear it. Only one album per band (or in Xysma's case, EP).

IMAAAAGINATION! =3 My favorite element about music is probably atmosphere. My mind is a lazy, albeit adventurous, asshole that likes to take vacations whenever it can. And what better than the surprise mental adventures that music takes you on? SHUT UP. SHUT UP. Nothing is better. Whether I'm whisked away on the wings of a dragon, sitting around a campfire with a group of vikings just before battle, wandering around a haunted castle, or floating around FUCKING SPACE, I love these adventures. Yes. Yes, I do. And here are my favorite albums that have incredible atmosphere for me to get lost in. (No particular order)

Drone Metal: The Slow Darkside It's always the same riff? the same bass? for some reason you can't stop listening to it? it's appealing. The whole sound summons you into a spiral, a void? It's always the same thing, over and over again... it's driving you crazy, demented? it's so loud that you'll beg for someone to kill you. But the music won't let it! The music is up to kill from the inside, it's your soul it wants! That chord, trembling over and over again? ''please kill me? please for the love of God, somebody kill me!!! I can't stand it anymore!''

One-album Metal Wonders A list of bands who have released just one album. Feel free to recommend!
Edit: If the band released their debut album between 2014-present and they haven't split, they are not viable.

A PBR 12 Pack Of Popular Hipster Black Metal. Orthodoxy is for morons who cannot compose or create themselves and need to copy the blueprint of someone else. Daring to be different might make your music stand apart. Daring to be different and standing apart might draw more people to your music. Daring to be different might make you more popular - and thus more hipster. So grow some facial hair, put on an ironic shirt, grab a PBR, and listen up.
