To bounce back after so many releases that ranged from uninspired to terrible is not an easy feat. Queensrÿche came back to life -when even their most fanatic followers had completely given up on them- with their self-titled album six years ago, then continued to earn back much of their lost renown with Condition Hüman that followed, and they now solidify the return to the metal world's list of bands that deserve our respect with The Verdict.

If they keep growing as on the 2 last albums, surely this one will be very nice also.

The last one got better with each listen and I am feeling same with this one so far as well. Happy to find myself a dedicated Queensrÿche fan again!

Dark Horizons

It's a very good album, but it needs some spins to show its value.
The best one since La Torre joined.

I get a strong Promised Land 2.0 vibe from these songs. It's a good album, but not as good as the previous one. I don't think we'll ever get an album of the same caliber as their classic era.

Check out Sweet Oblivion. Blows this out of the water. Geoff's new band with the guitarist from DGM. Sounds like the true successor to Empire/Promise Land era.

Has had little exposure unfortunately, but a real gem. First album I have sat down and listened to properly for a long while.

Damn, thank you!

"Bent" is my favorite song. Intense, heavy, operatic and progy.

I don't know if i'm overly critical but just like the previous one I can't seem to get into this. Once again it starts off strong with three pretty good tracks before getting into a landscape filled with filler material. Just like Condition Human it ends on a good note with Portrait.
