What I find depressing is how far nationalism takes political extremists everywhere. Like US reps, like Modi in India, like Orban, like the French right, like Meloni, ... They all play the same playbook

well, aren't you automatically "personally associated with the legal entity" if you're German? or do you not call yourself German?

I don't care for this country, I care for the people in it.

Why would I find that depressing?

You want to look away from the crimes of the past if you feel personally associated with the legal entity that holds responsibility for them

Anyone who makes their country their identity will at some point have to deal with its history. That's why nationalism is such a strong political tool.
