Disillusion - Guitar Player Quits The Band

Disillusion, under the pen of mainman Andy Schmidt, issued the following statement:

"Rajk Barthel and Disillusion go separate ways in music.

After 10 years on a common path with Disillusion, our musical ways are separating today . Both allowed this decision a lot of time, trying restarts for almost two years and seeking any chance to continue to work together.
Rajk and I have met back in 1998 in windy November Leipzig, constantly being fond of one another, starting to work on music and the formation of the band only one week later. However, now that some dreams of that time have come true and others are in the reach, a split is important and right; to keep on going and to continue to feel at home in one's artistic harbor, without wallowing in memories.
The shared years in the band have been all, impressive, beautiful, euphoric, sad, a real test and catastrophe, humanly not always easy, but there was always clarification; a struggle, joy about reached goals, common growing into too big shoes, common defeat and always honest and friendly.
And yet we have lost the way to make music together comfortably. It is not possible anymore. I regret that very much, but I am also filled with joy to know that Rajk will stay very close to the band in form of a booker and manager; but these terms don't really apply."

Disillusion - New Line-Up Announced

German metallers Disillusion have issued the following update:

"Hello everyone. After all this time of silence, what better news could there be than the fact that long-time Disillusion drummer Jens Maluschka has rejoined the band after a one-year absence?! I cannot tell you how glad we are about that!"

The band adds: "Matthias Becker joins Disillusion on the bass. I met him at recording sessions for his other band Safi MySpace]. Not only did we get along very well, but also his playing style is quite amazing. So, despite him dramatically lowering the average age of the band, I am pretty sure he will contribute a lot to the sound of the band!"

New Disillusion line-up picture] is:
- Andy "Vurtox" Schmidt
- Rajk Barthel
- Matthias Becker
- Jens Maluschka

Disillusion - Announce New Line-Up

The following message was posted on Disillusion's official website:

"Good news for the upcoming festival and live season! Disillusion have found a replacement for ex-drummer Maluschka. New drummer will be Alex "Sasch" Tscholakov, who has worked on every one of the band's releases over the past 10 years, either on the mix or otherwise. "Sasch" apparently is the perfect choice for the band and we are very excited to start writing the new record with him soon. Also, the vacant bass player spot is filled. To complete the lineup, Alla Fedynitch joins Disillusion. She has been a session bass player for quite a number of bands before and is of course more than a mere gain in the low frequency band."

Disillusion - Finishing Song-Writing Process

The following message was delivered at the last Disillusion newsletter:

"It is about time. Since February, Disillusion are working on their second full length record at their Salvation Recording studio in Leipzig and are now very close to finishing the song-writing process. As already presumed months ago: the new record will not be a follow-up to BACK TO TIMES OF SPLENDOR - that is for sure. No fields but motorways, where once were woods now concrete reigns. What then was orange is set ablaze. For all that, the new songs are much more Disillusion than ever before. The band is also looking forward to soon leaving BTTOS behind them, most of all live. Despite the constant attempts to shrink the monolithic material to a live-3-piece, it simply will not get any better.

Still, some concerts are set, most probably the very last
ones for BTTOS:

Nov 19 - Oschatz / E-Werk
Dec 03 - Aue / Winter's Dawn Festival
Dez 10 - Höchen / Glanhalle - Killing Santa Claus Party
Dez 16 - Hamburg / Fundbureau
Dez 17 - Hannover / Underworld
Dez 26 - Bautzen / Power Of Expression Festival
Jan 21 - Bayreuth / KOMM.

Recordings of the new record will probably begin in February - where and how they will be done, will be decided soon. A first, very careful and temporary plan predicts May / June 2006 for release date of the record.

Also, in about 3 weeks there will be a reissue and a special edition of the BTTOS shirts. If you want to call one your own, please check www.disillusion.de/extern.php's=merchandise in some time.

Talk to you very soon,
Disillusion."

Disillusion - Found New Bassist

The band sent the following message about the new bassist and some more update:

"Hello everyone,

As you might know, Disillusion have locked themselves up in the new building of Salvation Recording to write and record the follow-up to Back To Times Of Splendor since march of this year. The latter surely is not an easy job to do, but things and material are coming along very well, making the pressure appear less, day by day. Anything more about the new songs would simply be too early.

Instead we have other news: It is very special for us to announce that the search for a bass player that has been continuing since 1996 has finally come to an end - meaning Disillusion have found the right one! His name is Ralf Willis; coming from Brooklyn / New York Ralf decided to be part Disillusion after he heard about the band and our vain search for a fourth member when he was in Germany some months ago. We actually did only one rehearsal together and things were settled - Ralf moved to Leipzig and now is with us since March. By now, he already knows all songs.

Willis: "Not being a person of many words, to put it simply, this shit can be finger-breaking AND sensitive in the same song. This is expressing what I want to express."

Unlike with the last record, Disillusion will not take a live break this time. So, the band will appear at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig on May 15, being headliner of the Metal Stage at the Anker / with Dark Suns, Autumnblaze and Klimt. The show will include the first appearance of Willis on Bass
and a special Back To Times Of Splendor Video and Dance Performance by the dancer Natalie (www.natalietanzt.de). Unfortunately, there are no tickets available for Sunday only.

More upcoming dates are to be found at the Disillusion website www.disillusion.de, among them 3 dates in the Netherlands and a show in Switzerland!

So far so good, back to song writing!

Talk to you soon,

Disillusion."
