Helstar - 30th Anniversary DVD Tracklist Revealed

As previously reported, US speed metal band Helstar will release a 30th anniversary DVD. The tracklist of the concert, which has been filmed in Houston (Texas) on March 24th, can be viewed below. The official double live CD and DVD containing the entire performance will be released in the fall by AFM Records.

Helstar - To Release 30th Anniversary DVD

US speed metallers Helstar have announced that they will be celebrating the band's 30 year anniversary by recording an upcoming show for a DVD. The band issued the following: "Happy new year everyone! Can you believe that 2012 marks 30 years since the formation of Helstar? This calls for an epic celebration!"

Helstar - Mini-European Tour For December Announced

Helstar will be touring Europe this December in support of its latest effort, "Glory of Chaos", released on November 5, 2010 in Europe via AFM Records. Helstar's European headlining tour will kick-off on December 10th in Kerkrade, Netherlands, and will conclude on December 18th in Tilburg, Netherlands.

Helstar - To Release 2CD/DVD Boxset

Helstar is without a doubt one of the originators of American Heavy Metal. Metal Blade will now release the Rising From The Grave boxset which includes remastered versions of the A Distant Thunder and Nosferatu albums. The boxset also includes the brand new DVD Twas The Night Of A Hellish Xmas. The Rising From The Grave cover art] boxset will be released the 2nd/5th of July 2010 in Europe.

The DVD was recorded live at the Backstage Club in Houston, TX on December 25th 1989 and features original Helstar members James Rivera on vocals along with Larry Barragan and Jerry Abarca. It's the first authorized Live Video recording by 80's Power Metal icons Helstar. Mastered by Ty Tabor (King's X) and James Rivera.

Helstar - First Ever Video Now Available

Today (Tuesday, January 06, 2009) Helstar presents the first ever Helstar music video: "Pain Will Be Thy Name"!!!

The band recorded the live video footage on December 6, 2008, in Baytown, TX. The official video release date for "Pain Will Be Thy Name" is January 6, 2009.

The full music video will debut on Robb's Metal Works January 2009 episode, which also features an interview with Helstar guitarists Larry Barragan and Rob Trevino. The program airs on Sunday, January 18th at 10:00 PM on San Antonio, TX, Time Warner Cable channel 50.

Helstar - New Album Details

US metallers Helstar have issued the following update:

"Yeah we know, we suck! We haven't kept up with the site, but hey we've been in the studio! That's right we have a new CD completed! The title is "The King Of Hell". The European release date is set for September of this year. The US release should be about 3 months later. Don't ask why, we don't even know. Keep checking back for a sneak peak of some of the new songs and for upcoming European Tour dates!"

"The new Helstar album "Sins Of The Past" will be released on November, 23! The guys around singer James Rivera re-recorded some of the old classics from the first Helstar records to put them on this album. This is for sure not just another best of album! Helstar - Sign To AFM Records

Official press release:

Founded 1982 in Texas, Helstar went to a legend of the US Metal scene with such albums like "Burning Star" (1984), "Remnants Of War" (1986), "A Distant Thunder" (1988) and "Nosferatu" (1989). After the split in the beginning of the nineties, James Rivera played in bands like Vigilante and New Eden before Helstar did a reunion and the album "Multiples In Back" in 1995. After the album, the band split again.

Afterwards, Rivera released 2 outstanding records named "Distant Thunder" and "Killing Machine" before he joined Vicious Rumors and did the recordings of their latest album.

After playing with Vicious Rumors on this years "Bang Your Head" Festival, Rivera signed a long dated contract for Helstar with AFM Records.

Currently, the band is working in the studio and re-record some of the classics from the first Helstar records to put them on a best of album which will be released on November, 19, through AFM Records. This album will also contain 2 brandnew tracks! The new studio album of Helstar will be released around summer 2008. The AFM staff is proud to announce this new signing and ressurect the cult!
