Susperia - New Album Title Revealed

Norwegian metallers Susperia have set "Speaking Killing Words" as the title of their new album, due in early 2009.

Commenting on the new material, the band recently stated: "We are continuing to work on the new album while Cyrus is away. The pre-production is almost done on approximately ten songs. Our writing sessions had a good vibe going with input from all of us. We've disciplined ourselves more this time round and we're happy with the way it's going. As we've said before, the album is going to be hard and fast with some nice touches of melody. We are currently looking at options for studios and producers, with recording expected to start soon."

The Norwegian Melodic Band Susperia Has Posted the Following Message On There Official Website Concerning The Release Date For "CUT FROM STONE" in the U.S.

Norwegian melodic thrashers SUSPERIA have set a June 19 U.S. release date through Candlelight Records for their new studio album, "Cut from Stone". The CD was released in Europe in April, where it entered the Norwegian national chart at No. 18.

"Cut from Stone" was recorded at Strand Studio, Oslo, Norway during 2006. The mix was completed by Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH, SOILWORK) at Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden. Production was handled by SUSPERIA and Marius Strand.

"Cut from Stone" is the follow-up to the 2004's "Unlimited", which was the band's best-selling release to date. Their first two albums were released through Nuclear Blast. "SUSPERIA subsequently issued the "Devil May Care" EP in 2005 which reached No. 19 on Norway's official "Hit List," making the band the first home-grown act in the metal genre to achieve a Top 20 hit in the country.

Due to logistical problems, SUSPERIA will no longer be part of the EDGUY North American tour, which will launch on September 11 in Hartford, Connecticut. Replacing SUSPERIA on the bill will be Bay Area thrashers LIGHT THIS CITY. The trek will also include Canada's INTO ETERNITY.

Susperia - Drummer In Freak Accident

A message from Susperia's Management, 04/03/07

SUSPERIA DRUMMER IN FREAK ACCIDENT

OSLO, NORWAY - Norwegian rockers SUSPERIA have suffered a major setback in the run up to their forthcoming European tour with WASP later this month and the subsequent UK dates with ONSLAUGHT. The bands drummer Tjodalv has broken his ankle in a freak accident and will have to sit out the dates.

The incident happened when he slipped on a patch of ice whilst unloading his vehicle. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with an ankle break in two places, which required an emergency operation. Shattered and dejected Tjoldav is now at home recuperating, with strict orders to rest for at least five months until the breaks heal. The band are devestated at what has happened.

SUSPERIA have however, confirmed that they will fulfill all their upcoming live commitments and have drafted in Anders Haave from Blood Red Throne as a temporary replacement for the dates.

Please help wish Tjodalv a speedy recovery!

Susperia - Announce Release Date and Details of EP

Susperia, the extreme melodic metal band from Norway have announced the official release date for their highly anticipated EP, 'Devil May Care'. The special edition CD will be released in Europe on September 26th through TABU Recordings.

The EP features a mix of original and cover songs that have been drawn from various recording sessions. Tracks appearing on the release are the 'Unlimited' album track 'Devil May Care', new song 'Venting The Anger' and three covers, which the band has been performing occasionally at live shows. 'Lack Of Comprehension' originally recorded by DEATH, 'Wild Child' originally recorded by WASP and the much sought after version of 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' - a worldwide hit for fellow Norwegians A-HA. As an added bonus the release contains the promo videos for 'Chemistry' and 'Devil May Care' as well as screensavers, wallpapers and booklet picture gallery. The EP was completed at StrandStudio in Oslo, Norway. Production duties were once again handled by the band and engineered by Marius Strand.

Work on the EP started in January, but was immediately beset by a series of problems, resulting in various delays to its release. The first complication came when vocalist Athera lost his voice during the recording. Further setbacks followed including technical hitches and missing artwork, before everything was finally complete and in the can.

Minor problems aside, 2005 has seen SUSPERIA continue to build on the success of the acclaimed 'Unlimited' album - regarded by many as one of the best rock / metal releases of 2004. Their efforts were recognised with a nomination in the "Metal" category at Norway's prestigious Alarm awards. On the live front Susperia were invited to be the main support on the 2005 'Reunion European Tour' of bay area thrash legends Testament. The time in between has been spent on writing new material for the next album, which will be due in 2006.
