Rhapsody Of Fire - Announce New Album, European Tour
It took a couple of years for it to happen, but the revamped Italian storytellers Rhapsody Of Fire have just unveiled the name of the upcoming album, which will be their first album to feature new songs with their new vocalist Giacomo Voli and drummer Manu Lotter, after the departure of legendary vocalist Fabio Lione and drummer Alex Holzwarth back in late 2016. The new album will be titled The Eighth Mountain, and it will be first chapter of the band's next epic saga, "The Nephilim's Empire". This release will be accompanied by a European tour, starting in Barcelona, Spain on February 21st, 2019. The Eighth Mountain will be released a day later, on February 22nd, 2019 via AFM Records.

Written by mikeprado30 on 18.11.2018 at 20:39 Well, some skepticism (and even animosity to some extent) is understandable, with the Tom Hess situation and the weird pleas for money (overpriced signed CDs, fitness training by Steroidpoli etc). On top of that, all the fan favorite musicians left, and the only thing the new lineup has recorded is rerecordings of older songs, which kind of plays into the narrative of Staropoli and RoF being all about money grabbing and not giving much in return that's worthwhile. So it's understandable, but not necessarily justified. Either way, the image of RoF has suffered quite over the last seven years. Anyway, I'm sharing your entusiasm about this album. Into the Legend was pretty good (I simply didn't check DWoS yet, although I'm starting today and I'm surprised at how much I like it), and no matter how you see it, playing and recording the older songs must have had some kind of imprint on the band. On top of that, a new fantasy saga requires a storytelling approach, something that benefits this kind of symphonic speed metal greatly. So I have a good feeling about the upcoming album.

What they have been lacking with their last 4 albums is straightforward consistency. I constantly skip tracks left and right. I'm very hopeful that they can create memorable music once more. All the best and I can't wait to hear what Giacomo delivers to this revamped group. Hopefully, a starburst of desperately much needed energy and enthusiasm.
