Star One - First Album In 11 Years On The Way

After almost 11 years, Star One's Victims Of The Modern Age will get its successor. Through the recent Facebook posts of the band's mainman Arjen Lucassen we can see that the recording process of the new full length is in full swing. It will be once again a concept album, and this time, every song will feature different singer as well as several other guest musicians (names to be unveiled in due time). The album will be tentatively released later this year or early 2022. Stay tuned for more info.

Cool. Some of the old tracks are really solid. I have not been able to get into Ayreon though.

On one hand, I'm absolutely thrilled here. On the other, I do think I'll miss the core Star One quality when they had a select group of vocalists (Floor Jansen, Russell Allen, Dan Swano, Damien Wilson). I loved it being just those four... I'm sure this will be plenty fun either way, though.

It took until I listened to the Theory of Everything a few times, though most people are into the Human Equation or Electric Castle.

Have you tried Universal Migrator part 2? It's the heaviest one, and to me, also the more accesible.

I like Star One so much more than Ayreon! Glad to see this project resurrected.

After the last botched attempt, I'm not shocked by this announcement. The first 2 Star One albums are very solid material. Here's to a heavy and memorable experience!

Thanks. I will go through them all (again) in due course.

If you're a sci-fi fan, try not only to listen to Ayreon but follow the story. I'm not a fan of progressive music at all. But Ayreon got me hooked from the stories.
