Midnight Odyssey - New Album On The Way, Details Available

Australian Midnight Odyssey announce Biolume Part 3 - A Fullmoon Madness, the next full length instalment that will see the light on November 24th, 2023 through I, Voidhanger Records. Four years after the release of the first chapter, Midnight Odyssey close the circle of the ambitious "Biolume" trilogy with A Fullmoon Madness, a mammoth triple album wrapped in a new phantasmagorical cover painting by Elijah Tamu. The 13-piece outing was written and recorded by Dis Pater, and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony.

"This chapter embraces the moonlit night sky and the personification and mythology around Selene/Luna," Dis Pater explains. "The moon in itself is a ‘dead’ object. Its light is a pure reflection, yet we are drawn to it in ways that are both haunting and romantic."

"In absolute darkness, the smallest light can be enough; in pure overbearing light, you look for the shade or darkness," Dis Pater says. "Somewhere in between allows you to be blinded by neither, the moon reflects just enough light for us to look into the darkness and see what’s really there. And sometimes what’s there is corrupted, burning, distorted and not what you hoped to see. This spark of light is maddening. Sometimes it consumes you, and something monstrous or terrifying takes control."

Great artwork and music but FUCK, why do so many of these one man cosmic black metallers insist on these whopping, 90 + minute albums?

Guys, take a lesson from HV (Wormlust) please. Dude makes some of the best psych BM out there but never drops a release over 40 minutes. Less is often more.

Since the first 2 albums toped 2 hours each, and the 2nd Biolume was 100 mins, the 70 minute/single disc Biolume 1 was the anomaly, excluding the 3 ambient only albums.
I personally like these longer albums, if they are good right through.
