What is the most depressing, sad song, either lyrically, instrumentally or likewise, in any genre?

From spot i can name:

Nightwish - Away
Mägo De Oz - Creo
Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven (this is the winner i think)

Savatage - If I Go Away is probably ranked really high up there. in terms of despair and shit like that, it's definitely a really powerful song. also, Priest's Here Come The Tears is in the same bucket.

i'm not really a fan of this kinda music, but The Smiths - How Soon is Now also has some really dry and simplistic but extremely depressive lyrics.

"Mental central dialog" by Lifelover? Hard question though, there's so many. I love sad/depressive songs.

as someone with a couple dogs, who i know i will outlive, this is a real tearjerker.

Well, while it's not depressing in the conventional sense, it's still definitly something that can get you down. I dedicate this song to my friend and his hoplessly psycho gf. One day if they get married, I will personally play this for them at their wedding.

Well, considering Esoteric is labeled as "Funeral Doom Metal" I would imagine it can be depressing and gloomy for some; funerals are that way sometimes.

For me it would have to be Eos by Ulver and as someone mentioned earlier Tears in Heaven by Clapton.

I agree. Very intense especially upon first listen. Most of the stuff I've heard from Uaral tends to be very sad, as well.

I don't know what is the most depressing non metal song, but the first that comes to mind Soothsayer by Buckethead and pretty much the whole Electric tears album.
