It would be easy to deal with much of the vote abuse while at the same time potentially improving the community aspect of the site.

Preventing vote abuse would be quite simple, in my opinion. Simply add the number of 10-votes and the number of 1-votes and divide it by the total number of votes. The closer the result is to 1.0, the more it is a vote abuse account. 0.8 would probably be a good limit. Most vote abuse accounts would have 1.0. Then, one may wish not to delete those accounts but just do not consider the votes. However, this would not rule out vote abuse on "regular" accounts, but would be a quick fix against vote abuse accounts. To find vote abuse in "regular" accounts, one would need an "expert system" that does some statistics.

That doesn't really prevent it though, just deals with the symptoms as they appear. I'd prefer just to deter it altogether somehow.

Ironshervin is a disgusting vote abuser, but, given the fact that he has given a 1-rating to all 2015 albums except The Book of Souls, he's just backround noise. Hope that he will regain consciousness in 2016 or make a political career.

Maybe MS can help him by extending the max. rating to 20 (or 100). He clearly suffers from a vote congestion at the top :-)

The votes of this account were deleted by psykometal. So ironshervin has re-installed them. He must have a lot of time. To rate all Iron Maiden albums 10 might be acceptable. But to rate everything else with 1 shows what a big #@#!&% he is. The whole account should be deleted.

Some familiar names have given Under the Red Cloud a 1 again I suggest a ban, unless he's getting around them somehow.

They are familiar, but man are they're voting habits all over the place, and if they are multis then they've put a lot of work into making the accounts just look like they just be father/son, uncle/nephew kind of thing. Have run it up the ladder to some who are more familiar with IP look ups and the sort...

Without links or specifics it's difficult to understand who or what you're talking about, and I'm not going to potentially waste my time searching through all profiles looking for who you're talking about. Plus, your original comment made mention of multiple users having "familiar names" which, to me appeared to be indicating you were referring to multi-account users dumb enough to use similar names on there multi-accounts. Which is why the Radcliffes are all that stuck out to me.

^Don't look like vote abuse for me, at least not with the purpose of changing rankings of top albums.

Judging by the albums voted, it looks like the users don't have the same musical taste as most people on the site, but check the staff picks and hyped albums anyway. Then they end not lking it and rating them 1. Still a bit harsh of a note tho, I doubt every single one of them is "the worst ever", but well... Some people like to exagerate somehow.
