A Brutal Poem Of Technicalities (Ordered By Years)

So here are some Brutal, Technical, Progressive and sometimes Atmospheric death metal works I enjoy or that I believe should be given a try because they're unique and interesting, almost an essentials list when it comes to that style. There are some unorthodox choices as well in the mix that aren't just full-on tech death, some bands also incorporate grind, black, core elements or even jazz. Hope you'll all find something that suits your taste! The list is ordered by years. Feel free to comment and give recommendations! Just refrain from telling me an album shouldn't be featured here... All the albums here are deliberately hand-picked and if it made the list, it's for a reason.

Calm Hatchery, 2010? I don't like all that much the songs I've heard, but it would probably fit here very well. Oh, and 2002 Eternal Gray. No idea re: their more current material Also could perhaps do with more Suffo & Kata... other than that, my thoughts are very similar to those of Dizzeke edit - add Blackened Theological Tome, although you probably won't ever be able to get your hands on it...

Just added: Endless Chaos release from 2017 "Paths To Contentment" which doesn't seem to be featured on MS. Look it up pretty fun TDM from Canada. Also added another amazing Canadian release from the same year by the band Sutrah called "Dunes". Its fucking great, dont miss on it. EDIT: Endless Chaos was added to MS!

Second Entry for 2024 is: Job For A Cowboy - Moon Healer So, I gotta say that I am surprised. I did not expect this album to be this good and quite frankly this is the best I've heard from this band... Ever. The thing that is most memorable I find with this one is that bass. It pops out of the mix just the right way and it is absolutely tight. Love it. Anyways, great release from JFAC.

Just added something that should've been in here already a while ago... Thanks to Metal Rasputin for reminding me this was a thing. Timeghoul - 1992-1994 Discography [Compilation] (Progressive/Technical Death Metal) This compilation of their 90's demo material was released in 2012. Knowing this, don't be shocked by the rather raw production. This is some of the sickest Death Metal of the time. Also as a side note, I will be adding all the sub-genres in this list to help people find similar stuff they like.
