Yeah that’s a pretty ridiculous statement. The guy just loves music ands does what he loves. Don’t see how you could listen to Terra or City or Ocean Machine and come to the conclusion that he’s trying to make a buck.
I just googled Devin Townsend. Now I wish I doesn't. Looks like a guy who put a lot of effort to make a profit out of mainstream music camouflaged as something that has depth and quality. Almost like Christian rock in South Park.
If nothing else, definitely a groovy mix. Can't say i'm a fan of most of it, aside from hollenthon, wintersun, Ihsahn, and Rage.
Vestige is fucking amazing.
Tbh, i couldn't find a lot of stuff in Extreme metal that can be termed groovy and a lot of them that were groovy was stinking mainstream. So i've tried to balance it as much as possible.
Written by 3rdWorld on 16.03.2012 at 15:58 Kronos is definitely groovier than both Benighted and Putrid Pile.
I never said groovier so I don't know why you were pointing other bands out when I was just talking about Benighted who deserves a place here.
But I don't care about that tbh.... because you know.... There's also the fact that I see no Kyuss on this list and that makes me sad and dissapointed in so many levels. Fathers of stoner metal and pretty much one of THE groove bands. To me, groove and Kyuss go hand in hand.

I just meant to say that if Benighted or PP were to be on this list, that would be here after Kronos is here because i am searching for DM bands that are more groovy than the rest of the brutal stuff, I've already heard or aware of. I'll add 'em when i see there is a considerable amount of stuff.
It's been years since i last listened to Sons of Kyuss. Their other records i am yet to check out. Now that you mentioned them, QOTSA wouldn't seem too bad either.
