As far as I understand, the SEK is only more stable than the Euro because Sweden is actively meddling in its markets to maintain the exchang rate to USD.

I’ve been pretty mixed about this band for a while. They’re definitely A Game as far as death metal’s concerned, that’s fairly easy to tell. Within their own discography, they’ve always struck me as a little samey though, and personally I couldn’t tell you what’s really all that different from one album to the next with them
I totally get the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” principle, but I’m still hoping this brings something a little bit new to the table, by Ulcerate standards

By this comment I’m pretty sure you did not listen to ”Stare Into Death And Be Still” Which was Very different from what They did on the albums before it. Added much more dynamics. More atmospheric in general. As Nik said: it was their ”Eye Of Every Storm” (in reference to the Neurosis album). Give it a listen as Im sure you Will notice a difference.

I second this. I used to have a similar problem with this band than Auntie Sahar, I could never get into them at first and never quite got the hype of Stare Into Death And Be Still at first either, but I persevered with it and it grew on me after each listen. After developing a taste to SIDABS I went back through their discography and started to appreciate their previous releases more.
Now I'm hyped up for this latest, it can't come soon enough. It's funny how I never thought much to this band now they're amongst my favorite bands in death metal.

Nah I definitely listened to it when it dropped, and it probably was the best death metal album of that year (or Top 3 at the very least). I do recall some of that shift in songwriting you’re talking about, but it wasn’t really enough to make me go “WOW, this is is so different from what they’ve done before!”
Admittedly, however, Ulcerate aren’t really a band I revisit that often, so perhaps it’d behoove me to give a decent run through of their discog before this new one drops

For what is worth I do agree with you when it comes to the run of three albums from 2011 to 2016 to be too much of a good thing.
