I remember real Madrid vs Deportivo was stopped in 76th minute due power brake. Deportivo was one goal. They re plaid 14 minutes next day and real scored few goals

The local indy record store ran a pic of Slayer on the cover of their most recent promo zine, along with a partial exchange from an (imaginary?) interview which went as follows:
Q: What's the title of the new Slayer album?
A: World Painted Blood.
Q: What's it sound like?
A: What on Earth do you think?
It's pretty much exactly what you think. 10 or so songs clocking in around 40 minutes (11 tracks, 39 minutes and change this go around), some slower paced tracks, one or two creepy psychotic murderer tracks and a couple short but sweet barn burners played at 900 miles an hour (that's 1,448 kph to our metric friends) and lots of, uh, spirited and chaotic solos that make GIT grads cringe.
Although its predecessor marked a return-to-form of the band's signature sound, i prefer the progression and structure of 'World painted Blood'. Thing is, when slayer play the shorter songs here, they sound as if they came straight out of 1986. But on the longer songs (i.e, longer than four minutes), there is more tension and build-up at the songs' respective intros, making the songwriting seem more complex than usual. Nonetheless, it can get very bland indeed, as on the extremely generic 'Americon' and just-as-pointless 'Human strain', not to mention the unnecessary midpoint of 'Playing with dolls' (just being picky here), but this album just goes to show that slayer aren't afraid of a little variation in their music. Sure, they've shown progression on earlier records, but not as obviously as on 'World painted Blood'.
I am Slayer fan but this album is not good,I mean what the hell happened here?
Where are guitars?Sound is terrible! Rick Rubin helped them back in the day with
classis albums production but this?! This is not Slayer.I am very disappointed-

I'd say the problem is actually the fact that this is Slayer. If it weren't Slayer, then it'd probably be a good album.
Love the f&ckin' crazy-sounding Hanneman solo leading into the bridge section of the title track as Tom repeats "like a disease, spreading death, erasing your existence" and Dave pounds out a cool rhythm. Great song and a good album.
Very very mediocre Slayer album. Rather dissapointed with this one. A few tracks are outstanding but the rest is unnessecary. Megadeths "Endgame" just destroys it.
Actually I'm not sure if I'm sentimental about Slayer or not but really like this album too. One of their best. The lyrics are fantastic. World Painted blood and Hate worldwide are among the best thrash songs both lyrically and technically. If you don't like this album then you don't like retro thrash masterpieces and you're not a metalhead. sorry but that's true.

LOL. And I think you're one of those fans who are in love with hardcore and rock and you consider yourself a metalhead. very funny. LOL
I find it hilarious also that you're insulting hardcore considering how much they influenced thrash, the "metalhead's trve genre."
...And what's wrong with rock? Blasphemous as it may be, there's more to music than thrash metal. There's sure as some hardcore and rock better than anything Slayer ever did, that's for damn sure.
Some songs are surprisingly good like Beauty Through Order, Hate Worldwide, Public Display Of Dismemberment, Human Strain. But overall this album is a bit weaker than it's predecessor. Beauty Through Order is maybe one of their best songs ever written, however Christ Illusion is more consistent.

You say that on this album they have one of their best song...... Ya,your opinion is your opinion

Beauty Through Order remainds me of Seasons In The Abyss album.
Haha, wow this is rated wayyyyy too high! Completely worthless addition to their discography. Not a good riff to be found and the worst lyrics of all time.

World Painted Blood' is a throwback to the classic Slayer sound and is very much a traditional thrash album - as a result it comes over less noisy, abrasive and antagonistic compared to the two preceding albums.
It's at this point you do start to wonder why the band really need to produce more original material, but then the results here aren't awful by any means, just 'by the numbers' for this band.
Doesn't "by the numbers" mean average? (Tell me if i am wrong, English is not my first language). Average means a rating of 6. Even if you say "not good", means a rating of 5.
A rating of 2 means "pure shit". I don't think this album deserves that though.

I thought the two primary purposes for the internet were cat memes and overreactions.
1. You're right, maybe it's a 4/5 album, the 2 is just to try to lower the average of the album of which 7.7 is not at all credible, too high.
2. Slayer's long-awaited "comeback" album is precisely what one might expect from the band who just recently released the dregs that were Diabolus in Musica and God Hates Us All. Now, if these two weren’t horrid enough in their complete lack of depth or authenticity, we are subjected to Christ Illusion, a culmination of essentially all of the band’s pop-art work over the last 10 years or so. For those like myself, who would gladly kneel before the throne and grovel in homage to the might and brilliance of what Slayer had managed to achieve in the mid to late 80’s (Reign In Blood primarily), it’s not difficult to assess their current state of shameless commercialism.
With more than 1000 ratings, your rating of 2 does not do any damage. So you might as well rate them properly (for lack of a better word).
World Painted Blood is the only good, listenable later day Slayer album.
I think Diablus in Musica and God Hates Us All are the band's weakest efforts, unlistenable to me (to put it gently). Christ Illusion was an improvement on that, it was not by much, I will not get back to that album any time soon.

Dont let staff catch you on this. This smells like violating our rules and policies on voting.
