I have a hard time in general with people who only choose to see one aspect of something. National pride tends to ignore a lot of history and responsibility to even be possible.

Some of my friends sit somewhere in the middle of patriotism and nationalism. Is extreme patriotism a thing? Personally aussie pride makes me sick and it gets rammed down your throat

I would venture that Schopenhauer's quote also applies to football teams and cities. One is basically a company and one is a legal entity quite akin to a country for this argument
