His government successfully gave many Indians a nationalist identity. Originally a classic fascist move. Let's hope it doesn't get that far. But he is cementing his own power and influence in dangerous ways.

These days, many of my Indian friends feel like representatives of their country and culture and go to great lenghts to shine a positive light on it.

As far as I understand, hindu nationalism simply wasn't a thing 20 years ago except in fringe groups like the RSS.

He is weakening the foundations of India's democracy. Campaigning for a third term, weakening the free press, disenfrancising minorities, and using identity politics to justify all of it

@Cynic: What I mean when I say "agenda" is his push for nationalism and a hindu state. His weird RSS roots and connections giving him the necessary leverage. They literally killed Gandhi for preaching Hindu and Muslim unity.
