Heavy/thrash titans Metal Church return with their latest album XI slated for release on March 25th via Rat Pak Records. The band's 11th studio release also marks the return of legendary vocalist and frontman Mike Howe. The reunion between Mike and Metal Church started in July of 2014 when Mike started working with Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project he was forming with Nigel Glockler from Saxon. Metal Church will return with their new album XI this year which is slated for a worldwide (except North and South America as well as Japan) release on March 25th via Nuclear Blast Records. The heavy metal band's 11th studio release also marks the return of legendary vocalist and frontman Mike Howe. They have also released today an official music video for the debut single from the record called "No Tomorrow." The video was directed by Jamie Chamberlin and filmed in the Satsop Nuclear Facility, an abandoned nuclear power plant in Elma, Washington and can be seen here now.

And the new (old) Metal Church singer is... Mike Howe! That's right. After Ronny Munroe left at the end of last year, the announcement of the new frontman took a while but it finally happens now. Mike Howe originally joined Metal Church in the late 80's and released 3 albums with the band: The Human Factor, Blessing In Disguise and Hanging In The Balance.

When heavy metallers Metal Church announced their reunion at 70000 Tons Of Metal 2013, there was speculation about whether a new album would be in the works too. Well, the band has now completed the work on their new album and have set Generation Nothing as the title. The band's 10th studio album was recorded at Vanderhoof's English Channel studio in Washington. The release date will be announced soon but it should come out this year. Metal Church have issued the following update:

"To all of our fans and friends... We regretfully announce that Metal Church is calling it quits. The performance at Rocklahoma will be our last show. We have had to cancel the shows scheduled for August and that, among other things, has led us to have to make this decision. There has been far too much frustration and disappointment in trying to keep moving forward. The collapse of our record company, SPV, has made it next to impossible for us continue in any kind of professional manner due to lack of tour support. This decision was not made lightly. We do have unfinished business in the studio, and with any luck we will have something that will be of interest to Metal Church fans in the near future. We would like to thank all the fans that have stuck with Metal Church through all these years, the line-up changes and the ups and downs. We can't tell you how much your support has meant to us, we appreciate each and every one of you. It's been a great ride."

Metal Church vocalist Ronny Munroe has uploaded a couple of new solo demo tracks to his MySpace page.

Commented Ronny: "While Kurdt and Jeff are gearing up for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I kept myself busy this morning with Steve at Head Change Studio in San Francisco. I was recording a couple demo songs Rick Van Zandt Metal Church guitarist] and I have written. I am thinking about putting them on my solo album. These are just rough recordings with a drum machine so it is what it is but I would love to hear thoughts."

Metal Church vocalist Ronny Munroe has posted a new solo track, "What You Choose To Call Hell (I Call Home)", on his MySpace. The song features Michael Wilton from Queensrÿche on guest guitars.

Ronny Munroe will release his solo album, "The Fire Within", on April 21 via Rat Pak Records.
