Aborted - Two New Songs Online

Century Media press release:

"Mankind's sense for creativity probably manifests best in the sheer unlimited ways of torturing, mutilating, and killing each other. Successfully applying this atrocious inventiveness to their perversely precise sonic executions, "European death metal butchers" Aborted with members hailing from Belgium, France & UK have refined and re-defined the tools of their trade on their sixth full-length "Strychnine.213" to murder the listener with unimaginably gruesome, shockingly diverse brutality.

Besides the macabre cover artwork by Colin Marks / Rain Song, Aborted now present you two new songs from their stunning follow-up to 2007's much-lauded Century Media debut "Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture" at their revamped MySpace site.

"I35" demonstrates how Aborted have successfully increased the modern, darker and surprisingly dynamic and melodic elements of their sound, whereas "Pestiferous Subterfuge" is another brutal groove monster, heavy to the max! Listen to them now at http://www.myspace.com/abortedmetal.

Combining the band's undeniable live energy with a powerhouse production from Eric Rachel (The Red Chord, The Black Dahlia Murder, God Forbid etc.) and a "fuck you' rock'n roll" approach to the overly edited, sterile sounding death metal records of today, Aborted succeed in retaining their vicious roots while evolving in terms of melody, musical virtuosity and vigor.

"Strychnine.213" reinforces the notion that Aborted have doubtlessly developed into extreme metal's most promising new breed. In Aborted's degenerated worldview murder is fun and you will be delighted to be killed by their new aural toxin?"

Aborted - Lineup Changes/Album News

Belgian Brutal Death Metal outfit Aborted have posted the following update:

"Ok everyone, time for a big update on what has been going on with Aborted in the past months. To confirm rumours, drummer Gilles & bass player Olivia are no longer part of the band. Here is the official statement of the band:

Being in a band like Aborted at this point takes a lot of investment and commitment, right now we are not making money to support members of the band. Every tour is a financial hazard for the band which forces us to keep the small amounts of money we do make on shows to keep as backup if anything goes wrong on tour or any other situation, so that we don't have to pay the bills from our own pockets anymore. The result of this is quite simple: we can't afford to pay band members to play in this band. These conditions are simple facts & didn't work for Gilles & Olivia, which made it quite obvious they couldn't be in the band anymore.

We would like to welcome Peter Goemaere, who also plays in Emeth as a replacement for Olivia, Peter already performed with the band on a show in Tel Aviv (Israel) where he replaced Olivia who cancelled few days before leaving for Israel.

The band is currently recording the new album "Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture" with producer Tue Madsen at the Antfarm in Denmark. Drums on the record have been taken care of by Dave Haley from the band Psycroptic and drums in the upcoming shows this & next year (until a fitting permanent replacement has been found) will be handled by Etienne Galo from the band Negativa. Etienne's first show with the band will be on oktober 31st in Opwijk, Belgium. The band is currently taking auditions for a new drummer, serious inquiries can be sent to aborted@telenet.be or avernusstudios@gmail.com

The new album is scheduled to be released worldwide mid February through Century Media Records & features several guest performances by Jeff Walker (Carcass), Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere) & Henrik Jacobsen (Hatesphere), containing 11 new tracks:

01. The Chondrin Enigma
02. A Methodical Overture
03. Avenious
04. The Spaying Séance
05. And Carnage Basked In Its Ebullience
06. The Foul Nucleus Of Resurrection
07. Archetype
08. Ingenuity In Genocide
09. Odious Emanation
10. Prolific Murder Contrivance
11. Underneath Rorulent Soil

Besides the regular 11 new tracks, the band also recorded 2 covertracks for limited editions or Japanese release being "Slaughtered" from Pantera & "Surprise! You're Dead" from Faith No More."

Aborted - Forced To Drop Off Cryptopsy Tour

Belgian death metallers, Aborted have posted the following update on their homepage:

"Well, this tour (with Cryptopsy) has been quite the debacle. We had to cancel Malmo (Sweden) since the bus broke down in Denmark and we were stuck there the whole day which sucked ass. Luckily for the fans, Cryptopsy did make it at the last minute, and apparently they tore it up! We apologize to the fans there waiting to see us, but we only found out last minute we wouldn't make it, sucks.... Secondly, Matty (guitars) had some problems with his working situation so last minute we had to cancel our participation to the rest of the tour since he might have lost his job over this. Our boys in Visceral Bleeding are taking over for the other dates and I'm sure they will do the killing in our stead. All you guys out there, no worries, we're planning a full offensive next year with the new album! Now it's time to play Stockholm, see you guys there!"

Aborted - New Lineup

A new year, a new beginning: On those notes we start off the new year, wishing everyone including all our fans the best of luck with their plans and projects for 2006.

Unfortunately we have some unpleasant news to bring as well at this point. Due to personal issues that could not be resolved, Aborted, Tace & Free had to part ways. A cummulation of smaller and bigger problems in the past so and so months has made it virtually impossible to keep cooperating together as a collective unit. Tace & Free are not vanishing, they will remain active in their other projects. People will see Free in his other band "Forced Hate" and Tace in a new band.

On a more positive note, we want to state that absolutely nobody out there should worry about shows getting canceled and so on. The February tour with Cryptopsy, Grave, Dew-Scented a.o., will go on as planned! Stepping in are Seb (Genital Grinder/Balrog) on guitar, Olivia (ex-No Return/Balrog) on bass and Matty (Emeth) on guitar as well since Steph could not commit him self to this tour due to his lady sitting at home pregnant, ready to give birth.

We have already rehearsed our setlist with the new line-up several times and things are working out perfectly. The motivation and "drive" is back in the band, something that was missing since a while ago, and it feels great to be jamming out the tunes with fresh blood incorporated. Throughout the years this band has been struggling with the line-up, having more than a couple of line-up changes. However, Aborted has proven that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, and this time it should be no exception.

We also started working on the successor to "The Archaic Abattoir", which is set to be recorded later this year. Again we would like to thank all of those who have supported us, and we're glad you are still doing so. We will see many of you on tour in February!

Cheers,
Aborted
