Amorphis - Premiere 'The Well' Song

Just a few days before the kick-off of their co-headline tour with Eluveitie, Amorphis return with a brand-new song, "The Well", which is featured in the freshly released Halo (Tour Edition). The song was recorded during the band's latest studio session and is only available on this CD and digitally.

“’The Well’ tells a story about an individual causing chaos and mayhem by breaking the principles of society. It is a timeless force phenomenon repeating itself in the history of time, a kind of natural force among the human kind”, vocalist Tomi Joutsen states. “The song itself is drawing some influences from the early Scandinavian early black metal and classic oriental Amorphis vibes. This one is on the heavier side of the material recorded during the Halo album sessions on 2021.”

To the surprise of probably no one, I enjoyed this

Edit: On second listen - I would've put this above at least one or two that made it onto Halo

Sounds like it could have been a song written for Circle. Would have fit right in there.

The Evergreen
Sometimes, a band arrives at a sound that I just can't get enough of. Time passes, the band moves on, and I miss the sound they used to have. Amorphis has stayed right where I like for decades now, and I am grateful for it. Their consistency may not please all, but it pleases me.

I LOVE this track!

Yes! This could easily have replaced not just one or two songs on Halo and raised the general quality of the album, I like it a lot too. It reminds me of Circle, as Tuonelan says below.
