Ahab - New Album Announced
Funeral doom metal sailors Ahab announced new album The Coral Tombs, out on January 13th via Napalm Records. The band also revealed the new song ''Prof. Arronax’ Descent Into The Vast Oceans'' in the form of a lyric video.
The band adds: ''How else could we have started our new album after 8 years wait? I love the unexpected, so it feels kinda natural to start that thunderous. "The song tells the first milestone of '20,000 leagues under the sea', when the Nautilus attacks and Professor Arronax and Conseil go over board and nearly drown. Of course we also introduce Captain Nemo in the first song. I cut the video myself as Napalm Records asked us for some videos - it’s a lyric nautic video. We’ll do two DIY videos and one professional video."

Those growls in the beginning were... ehmm... INTENSE! Song overall is good but I wasn't too impressed. Definitely curious though because the beginning was awesome.

Art appears more stoner than funeral. If only they went that direction a la aquatic stoner instead of the increasingly dry output they've become.

Strangely enough the vocals in "Prof. Arronax" sound a lot like Richard Dawson - and I totally dig it!
