In Norway, prostitution is actually bocoming a problem. I think this is mainly because of the governments stupid laws. It's not illegal to sell sex in Norway, but it is illegal to buy. Prostitutes are required to pay income tax as well, something I find quite strange, based on the fact that they can not lawfully make money by doing what they do.

Good move by the government actually. They know prohibition doesn't work so they tax the trade and pocket some spending money for the politicians, all the while appearing totally on the side of the working woman by allowing her the legal right to sell her body. It's a win-win for them really.

Well like weed, sometimes i't s better with the politician fuckwits than sleazy drug dealers selling to kids and massive raids and cops knocking at your door in the morning.. as much as i hate to say it.

In ned where its legal IMO they also pay taxes and if its legal , women be protected from pimps, angels , bandido, gremium or whatevergang controls that town and other pimps, and mafia ... I have seen what brutality in Hungary gypsy mafia use to keep women work... in west its much better.,.. same if its be legal, taxes, incomes, and women's safty

same why I am not sceptic anymore about weed legalisation , might be incomes in our budget. just I saw Ndrangheta/Mafia in Reggo Di Calabnria (Cosa Nostra wa sin Sicily, Comora in napoli area and Sacra Corona Unita in Apulia) just get 60 milions per year from drugs ... and all it goes out of taxes .... if we legalize some part of this deadly virus we can have incomes and BIG ones, besides it will weeken ceiminal oragansatins, since war aganst weed costw ay to much

what do you all think about these two taboo subjects? in sweden, prostitution is illegal. i think this is wrong. i want a more liberal society. supply and demand should be put to use. people who are against prostitution always gives the argument "the girls are being used by the men". well, thats the same thing as the guy working at mc donalds is being used, coz its a shitty job with low wage. but what if the girl chooses to be a prostitute. then why is it wrong?

Only buying sex is illegal, the actual prostitutes aren't considered criminals but mostly victims, and the people who pay for their services are the only ones who are committing a crime in this situation. The idea behind this is to protect women in already bad situations from being prosecuted for doing what they do, while dissuading potential buyers from partaking.

I'm not a religious person, so I wouldn't necessarily call it 'soul', but I get what you're trying to say. Maybe 'dignity' is a better term?
However, that's a very interesting point of view, and I think there's a lot of truth in this thought.

I mean, people always talk about women being objectified through prostitution and that it's degrading to sell your body, but isn't it just as degrading when you have to pay to experience the illusion of sexual attraction and intimacy? Don't get me wrong, it's not that I find prostitution reprehensible in principle and in absolutely every situation, but I still find it kind of pathetic when men, who usually like to flaunt their self-confidence and masculinity, have to pay for sex.
For me, that's the exact opposite of masculinity and self-confidence.
