Anthrax, one of the "Big Four of Thrash", certainly deserves their own thread here on Metalstorm forums (as they have in the past). Definetly a great band worth discussing. If you are new to the band, I recommend you listen to "Among the Living" sometime.

It hasn't been 100% confirmed yet, but Corey Taylor from Slipknot might be their next vocalist.

I've seen this mentioned on a bunch of blabbermouth articles, but with this new article, I'm getting really concerned...

Yeah that pisses me off........alot. I like anthrax, and I think their early vocal work was probably the very best of the big four. Why can't they just keep their screechy vocal style? I mean, cory taylor doesn't touch classic anthrax. But then again we all know how prone these guys are to experimentation, they are probably just tredding in some kind of water they hold a curiosity for.

They are fucking insane, but Corey's vocals doesn't have much to do with Anthrac vocal style, they are really crazy, why would they want to do that?? Well, as Arian Totalis said they are prone to experimentation and all the funny, silly and ridiculos stuff they have done would be nothing comparing to this, if it is gonna happen

Oh no, that's not gonna happen, no way. Corey Taylor WILL not be Anthrax's new vocalist/frontman. That would be really bad, if that would happen.. I like John Bush a lot more. Please come back John!

If Anthrax is gonna switch vocalists they should get Paul D'ianno, Corey Taylor already has two bands he's ruining why Anthrax?

Why Paul D'Anno? He is fucked, I listened him few years ago and he can't sing for shit. He is constantly trying to switch his voice from some punk style to growl and it sound ridiculous. I doubt that he is the man for Anthrax

Blabbermouth has reported that Corey Taylor will not be on the next Anthrax album due to scheduling conflicts with his other gay bands, but I guess he did work on material with Anthrax.

Thank god.

You only need to write "80s", the "tie" sound is already covered in "eighty"

I hadn't thought about Di'Anno, it doesn't seem so bad to my mind... of course Belladonna would be the best but that's equally as likely as them returning to the musical style of the 80s

I understand what you're saying but... you should try even more. When i first discovered Anthrax, honestly, i was disgusted lol.
But after listening few times... trying and trying.. i started to understand their work and got into them. So if you can't get into them right
now... well just leave it like that and try later on... maybe you'll find out that they're actually owning lol

And for the vocalist... well bring back the 80's plz lol.

I used to find them pretty boring as well, I still find the John Bush era stuff sub-par. But after listening to "Spreading The Disease" I started to understand, Frank Bello's basslines in songs like 'Lone Justice' and 'A.I.R.' just have such a sweet groove to them I couldn't ignore them anymore.

Frank Bello is a damn good bass player. if i give anthrax any credit, they have good musicians, even if i dont like their music very much.

Got a nice surprise this morning. turned on the TV while getting ready for work and the episode of "Married with Children" with the 'win a dinner with Anthrax' episode came on.

Frank Bello had a couple good lines in that one.

Man....I'm lost for words, I watch Married With Children almost every day, yet I haven't seen that. They were all pretty funny. Scott Ians probably the worst actor out of them all though.

I've become addicted to the song "Blood" on Persistence Of Time...

And, I don't know why, but there seems to be so much hate (Or lack of recognition) for Anthrax among fellow metal heads these days... Why? They're easily my favorite thrash metal band.

Its because of their association with Public Enemy. And them recording a rap song (I'm The Man).
