Same here, I didn't like the latest one so I am not asking for too much but a good album.

I'd like to think so, but generally once a band release a fairly boring album they tend to lose their spark and it's all downhill from there. Still, fingers crossed!

The last album wasn't bad in my book. It was better than Tonight's Decision and also better than Last Fair Deal Gone Down. But it was still kind of weak so I hope this dudes will do a strong album. I want some kind of a more "in your face" music. Something like "Leaders" but more in your face.

Didn't like the title.. "Night Is the New Day", wtf?

And Great cold distance was everything but 'groundbreaking' to me. Not bad, but one of their worst..

Have you gone mad? The Great Cold Distance better than Tonight' Decision and Last Fair Deal Gone Down? TGCD isn't even allowe dto tie TD & LFDGD's shoelaces. Although those two aren't my favourite albums by them they are far superior in songs an variaion to th boring drag of an album called The Great Cold Distance.

"Night is the New Day". That album title is interesting, to say the least. I don't really know what to think of it just yet, but it has potential to grow on me. Heck, I was researching this band yesterday, before I even knoew about this new development. This band is great.

Have you gone mad?

Only according to 9 of 10 doctors. But the doctors don't know a shit about different music tastes anyway.
Most of the songs in TGCD has the same level of quality... weak for some people [I find it weak at times also]. But Tonight's Decision has too much levels of qualities so to speak. Songs that are awesome and others that are just shit imo like "Had To (Leave)", "No Good Can Come of This", "Nightmares by the Sea"... Those songs are fucking annoying at times imo. Soemtimes I wish that Tonight's decision was instead an EP with only the best songs from that album. That would be great.

When it comes to LFDGD I think I was talking out of my ass because I haven't listened to that album in such a long time so I don't remember it's sound so good, so now that I think of it I can't really compare it to TGCD. So yeah... I make misstakes sometimes. But still... TD is still the weakest Katatonia album IMHO.

Hi, my name is Rodrigo and sometimes I have opinions.

Always good to know, thanks. I actually have to say that out of that three tracks I dislike, that's the want I actually can stand most of the time.

Mmmm, I really would like some stuff a la DO, that album was THE Katatonia album of their era with soft vocals

ALthough Tonight's Desiciaon is fa from being my fabourite album I by far prefer it over Discouraged Ones. After The Great Cold Distance I find that one the worst.

discounting the best one (the first two) that would be Viva Emptiness without a doubt.

Okay this proves it, you have gone totally mental, this should never be a tie since Viva Emptiness is superior in every way
