This album is average, but after the 2000 album Metallica is better.

It's better than St. Anger for sure, but by Megadeth standards, indeed average. Still, it has its redeeming moments.

This is a totally underrated album. It's simply great.:thumbup:

This is a very patchy album. The title track is weak, and "1000 Times Goodbye" which is otherwise a decent song, is almost ruined by those annoying "phone calls". lol "When" shamelessly rips off "Am I Evil", and "Losing My Senses" is IMO the worst track Megadeth have ever recorded. Its not a bad album, but definitely weak for Megadeth.

I obviously don't agree. Aside from the phone calls, the lyrics are a bit silly. But musically its fine IMO. lol

I wasn't big on the groove and weird harmony. Also, lyrics are quite silly, actually. It's one of the few breakup songs Mustaine has written. Dammit, does he suck at that, haha.

Breakup songs generally, usually have awful lyrics. lol Although I think the lyrics to "Tornado Of Souls" was based on a past relationship that Dave had. But the lyrics to that are miles better than "1000 Times Goodbye"!

Completely uninspired album, especially when considering that the only 2 decent songs are: one that was ripped off Diamond Head and the then one that they ripped off themselves...

XD The rating is 6.9. But seriously, this album is ok imo. I think that lots of the song are great like "Disconnect" and "1000 Times Goodbye" and more. After the awesome intro, When was a bit weak imo. It is not as good at the band's first 5 albums, but it is decent.

Lots of hate towards this album that i don't quite understand. Not the most memorable thats for sure but return to hangar and burning bridges are two songs i really like by megadeth. and to the person who gave this a 2. you realize you just rated a megadeth album as "Pure Shit" right? be reasonable

Ok i understand why people think its some weak album but Dread and the Fugitive Mind its a great song...and more...the whole album as some catchy lyrics you gotta give them that

"Dread And The Fugitive Mind" is a great song, and I love the solo on it. Overall though, it is a patchy album. It's follow up, "The System Has Failed" was so much better.

This is a totally underrated album...

A few parts of this album are alright, but so much of it was terrible that it negated any enjoyment I could've gleaned from the good parts.

Promises is enough to love this album

There are some songs which are really great, like "Disconnect, Moto Psycho, Promises, 1000 Times Goodbye(one of my personal favorites),Dread and Fugitive Mind(one of the best Megadeth songs, and awesome solo)" But in general the album doesnt have its own character and other songs are really weak.

This is such a messy and at times cringy (the lyrics...) album. Most of songwriting feels rushed and forced and you can really sense that Dave had no idea how he was going to tackle the fact that people wanted a thrash album and he didn't know how to write a good thrash song. It falls in between so many times. Luckily there are some moments of greatness here (Dread And The Fugitive Mind, Promises, Return to Hangar) but after you done listening to the album it's not the highlights you remember, it's the song "When", and that's not good in any way.

After 2 previous shit sick sick puke cum albums this is awesome. Its good. I remember listened it in that time when it was out whit a lots of beers in a bickers garage whit mates. I was like 60 something. I hated it them.
Now I am older and wiser I appreciate this one, its decent.

One thing we can all agree on is that Dread And The Fugitive Mind if the best track on this album

This is megadeth at its absolute worse. Apart from return to hangar, nothing is memorable or interesting, and that song is just a half rip off from hangar 18

As a Megadeth album it's average, but on its own its a solid 8/10 for me. love most the tracks (promises and silent scorn being the weakest for me). Obviously its no Rust in Peace but its not trying to be (aside from return to the hangar lol which is a fail in some ways)

Decent album, nothing special, but listenable.

All these low ratings, are you guys sure you listened hard enough, I don't care what the voice of reason says this was a huge return for Megadeth after Risk with fresh ideas
