One of the greatest finnish melodic black band ever . Arthemesia is a Finnish melodic black metal band formed in 1994 under the name Celestial Agony by vocalist Valtias Mustatuuli and guitarist Routa. The band's first album, Devs Iratvs was compiled from several demos they had recorded prior to its release in 2001. A first proper studio album, ShamaNatahs, was released in 2004. Maenpaa left to form a new band named Wintersun. In 2009 they released their second full-length album, a.O.a, or Alpha Omega Alpha. Musically it strays from their first album, with traditional heavy metal, black metal, ambient and jazz all playing a part in the arrangements. Unfortunatly they dissbanded on 2010. Here is the last words of band former : "And now that we're dead We've learned how to live Our failures taught us how to forgive And now that we've risen from the ashes of me and you All our dreams shall come true Floating in circles Stars shine a light our way To meadows and fields, green as the grass Where we lay down Forever... As far as the two songs on their Myspace go, it's really good music. At some points it reminds me of Greek Black Metal, especially Deviser, or Zemial, due to the riffs. Will have to check out their full-lengths then.
