....my language and being over - parenting in suggesting how I act, don't we? I'd suggest you step off the high horse, sir. I'm trying to be diplomatic here, if you can't tell. Don't needlessly escalate "because muh authority"
I'm not doing anything wrong by MS standards. I may not be Staff like yourself, but I am still Elite. I'm not using any slurs or deriding comments against MS policy. And you and I have prior history on trying to censor....
Instead of arguing about politics we should all moan about new Rotting Christ album. As a lifelong fan I am insulted by third album in a row build on 2 or 3 same riffs
Avoiding the Palestine/Israel conflict in particular is because we have people from both sides here with completely different views. We don't want any animosity between our users. It's a sensitive topic so just stay clear of it.
I'm a huge fan of Blackened Thrash, and I'm always on the look for new and exciting bands as well as the old and yet undiscovered ones. From what I can see, there is no existing threads on this genre, so here we go!
What are your favourite bands? Anything you would recommend? Why do you like the genre, and when did you discover it?
I'm hoping for a load of good suggestions and opinions here. Most of the bands i listen to are Norwegian, so a little more diversity would be good
I kind of discovered it when i first listened to Aura Noir a few years back. I fell in love with the fierce tempo and harsh, aggressive vocals. Since then my interest in the genre has grown a lot, and today I would say that it's my favourite genre. (Today, that is. Might not be a year from now)
Absu
Ares Kingdom
Aura Noir
Black Fast
Vektor
Destroyer 666
Mayhem
Rimfrost
Witchaven
Inculter
Condor
Nekromantheon
These are just off the top of my head.
Vektor is Thrash. You could probably call it progressive Thrash but it's not Blackened Thrash.
Mayhem is Black Metal. Unless you mean another Mayhem than the band from Norway (there are several bands called Mayhem).

The only thing you could consider black metal about in Vektor is the vocals, the music is mostly Voivod worship, nothing much to do with BM.
But they are not really BM vocals. And it's music that defines a genre first and foremost, not vocals.
Reminiscent of old Voivod, yes. And Voivod never had anything to do with BM.

Lots of great recommendations. Sabbat, Deathhammer, and Deströyer 666 are up on my list.
I got pretty sick of thrash metal these days, but black/thrash metal and death/thrash metal still get me going. Those genre hybrids still sound quite fresh.
I consider Sepultura's Morbid Visions to be part of the first wave of black metal. Same as Kreator and Destruction on their debuts.
