Hell yes! Olympiakos made it to the Conference League final against Fiorentina. Football got interesting for the first time in forever. Let's bring the title home to Greece!
It's crazy how much nonsense I've heard for people who don't truly understand the offside rule (but then again, it's a pretty complex set of rules on paper).
@ Cynic, if you're talking about the 2nd goal, then you're very, very wrong. They were robbed only on that late offside which actually wasn't, and that's that.

With Human. :II: Nature., Nightwish aim to explore life, the universe and everything, but spend too much time staring at the bigger picture to notice the smaller necessities they've overlooked.

New NIGHTWISH studio album 'HUMAN. :II: NATURE.' to be released on April, 10th! Pre-orders start February 7th!
Tuomas once said that whenever he creates a new record he has the intention of capturing something rare and unique, a monument and a true album experience. In 2020 he's certain to achieve his objective once again. We have completed the recordings for their 9th studio album and are proud to announce the title, artwork and tracklisting. 'HUMAN. :II: NATURE.' will be released on 10th April 2020.
The long-awaited record, following 2015's critically-acclaimed 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful', will be a double album containing 9 tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters on CD 2.

If I hear another bullshit like 25 minutes of NatGeo Wild elephants and tigers roars like "The Greatest Show On Earth", I swear I'll give up to Tuomas' bullshit and Nightwish.
Phone bad, blonde women bad, technology bad! We record album in woods and poop in woods and wipe bum with banana leaves = only way to live. Hurray for nature, a life-expecancy below 50, and 4 out of 7 children dying. Hurray for no vaccines and no interwebs and no studio monitors and guitars and no social media to share our musi...... oh wait...
I'm too lazy to check whether that's true or not... back on topic, this album's gonna suck. My guess is it will be like the final season of GoT, even hardcore fans will finally realize the whole thing's been a disaster for ages

Nobody cares about these comments, nor should they. Opinions are like arseholes, we all have at least one, so what.
Nobody's gonna change his/her opinion about anything based on what other people think, unless s/he is a loser anyway.
These comments are just more noise from narcissists seeking attention by any means necessary - and yes, I know I'm one also.

That's kinda the point of having a comment section: people voicing their opinions. I doubt anybody thinks Nightwish cares about us.

Sounds like a discussion I have had with another MS user a couple of times - should you listen to other members or strictly listen to yourself?
You probably havent been here long but if you had you would know that I have the best taste in this forum - and ofc there are some other that maybe equals me. But once upon a time I didnt have the best taste here I was just an ordinary member that never had questioned my own taste. I listened to shit music like you do now but for some that isnt enough. Why that is, is a difficult question, my guess (which is as good as anyone elses) is that taste is quite tighttly knit in to your political opinions - some people are more independent than others.
If you wanna start listening to stuff you choose by yourself rather than the finnish melodic death metal or symphonic metal with cringy female vocals that the labels serve the masses you have to listen to what other members here that dont like this type of capitalistic fast food music. Its a bit of contradiction - to find what is your own taste you have to listen to others. You are down in a deep well now, use other members to climb up. When you are up, then you can say now I have my own taste and I dont care about you. But you are not there now, you only care about what they serve you.
If we dont have these types of alpha taste masters here like myself, the forum succumbs to being only what the market and the big labels wants it to be. So please for my sake and for the gods of elitism start making comments and listen to what others think and you will maybe one day become a big alpha taste master that spreads good music and good opinions here.

God, you're so insufferable, but so immensely entertaining. I am conflicted.
Now I'm curious what kinda music you were into 5-10 years ago

Are you serious? I've been posting for all these years hoping that band members and label executives read my opinions and acted on them as direct advice. And now I learn that it's all been for nothing.

Well that was unexpected. In a good way. The album is MUCH better than the first two singles, which actually fits quite well with the whole flow of the album. Strangely, this is absolutely heaviest album since Once and at the same time it has the most non metal parts. But I would give my money just for Tribal and Shoemaker.
This is in no way a Nightwish we used to know, but it's the Nightwish it could have been after all the drama in post-Once. I take this new approach, and I apologize to Tuomas for all the previous comments made on him, this is a Nightwish I wanna listen to.
Don't get me wrong, this is an evolution, not a come back to the roots, but in a good way.
Not as bad as I expected, however Emppu and Marco completely underutilized again - no solos (again) and not enough Marco Vocals. Also the the long instrumental song on second disc doesn't really do anything for me.

Are you kidding me? The is easily the worst piece of crap they have released.
First part is amazing, clearly a good decision to avoid most of the orchestra in the "regular" songs, I'm a fan of symphonic as well but too much is too much, and last Nightwish albums had too much of it. Superb songs, pieces like Music, Shoemaker, Pan, Tribal or Endlessness are nothing short of fantastic. The only "negative" I find is that Marco was basically put back as a backing vocalist and only leads in one song.
Second part, ironically, was the one I was most excited for since the anouncement. An orchestral piece by Tuomas, long enough to fulfil one CD seemed great to me, and the piece made public (Ad Astra) was great... yet the full thing left me disappointed. Too calm, too boring, I was expecting something on the vein of "The Poet and the Pendulum" (the orchestral part of the song), but couldn't be more different. There's nothing there for me, except the final part, Ad Astra.
Well, this was a very pleasant surprise for me, perhaps because my expectations were very low.
In my opinion, the best Nightwish album since Once. While it still has moments that remind me of the Nightwish on the last three albums (which I don't like), the album is good.
Great work by Floor on vocals.
A solid album.
Highlights: Shoemaker, Pan, Tribal and Endlessness.
What is Emppu up to these days? does he play in some other band? it's been more than a decade since he played anything memorable. and that's the most tragic part of Nightwish. Sure, Tarja's leaving was bad, but Emppu didn't go anywhere, the guy's right there but never have I seen a good guitarist this underutilised.

I find this post weirdly ironic since is guitars is probably the most present instrument on disc 1.

That's not the point as Emppu used to give stellar performances - I take it you've never heard Angels Fall First, Oceanborn or Once (or anything pre Endless for that matter).
Listen to them and you'll see how great he once was compared to what he does now.

Yeah, feels like the band hasn't even tried doing anything interesting guitar-wise since Wishmaster.
