Is it possible to add genre tag to the new releases section so it would easier to sort out stuff?

That section as well as the charts, upcoming releases, and several other parts of the site dealing with the sorting and display of data is due for a rewrite anyway. I've been trying to minimize the amount of large additions to existing features as much as possible.
I could easily add genre labels to the list that is already there, but to add sorting, I'd really rather wait for when enough of the back-end is in a place that allows proper rewrites of individual modules. We're getting there slowly but it'll take months still, depending my own time and some other factors.
