Modern Primitive is a Septicflesh album; it’s no less than that, but it’s not really much more than that either.

Strong release, please!

Do you mean that previous releases were not? Since they came back with Communion the band has been strong like steel. However the first single isn't an instant coup de coeur, maybe a grower. Not feeling any worried though.

Seth's harsh vocals haven't lost an ounce of brutality, and Sotiris' melodic vocals are as haunting and mesmerizing as ever.

I hope Modern Primitive will be way better than their previous output. Codex Omega was a big disappointment for me.

This is not a bad one, but not as captivating as the last one. I would rate the first half of the album as maybe a 6 and the second half as an 9, so I gave it a 7 then.

I don't know why but this band makes me smile from the start to the end. I just enjoy their music too much.

They peaked with their sound years ago and they're still there.

Album by SF sounds like SF. Brings nothing new to the table, so if you like what they've done for the last decade you'll like this. I'm not overly enthusiastic about this as I can't really tell the songs apart after then 1st listen, which would be fine if I loved the sound, but I'm not enjoying where they've settled compared to other bands that have the same song for the last decade (e.g. Insomium - even if they've technically improved).

I only have one complaint. The album is too short clocking in at barely 39 minutes

Only one song is over 5 minutes and it's only 5:01. When hitting "Play" it felt like it just got started and then it was over. They should've fleshed it out a bit more. 10 more minutes would've done the trick.

If your album is going to be over 30 minutes long, you should make two albums.

I'm not a huge fan of Septicflesh, I find them a little too symphonic for my taste, and I've never quite warmed to the vocals either. So far I'm not overly keen on this album, but I wasn't expecting too much from it to begin with. It's certainly not a bad album by any means, the production is good anyway, maybe it will be a grower, and I will warm to it over time, or maybe their just not a band for me, time will tell.

The symphonies are certainly very dramatic, and there is an high intense feeling throughout, but I'm finding the riffs far too chuggish for my liking, and the clean vocals do nothing for me. A few tracks stand out for me more than others though, with "A Desert Throne" probably being the main stand out for me.

Kinda feel this rec is more straightforward, while also being extremely orchestral based. Really liked it, makes it sound Epic or even tense. Only song I disliked was "Modern Primitive", specially for those garbage clean vocals, which sound ridiculous having in mind what he says. The lyrics are also kinda weak, sadly.

It's pretty good, nothing they haven't already done, imo Codex Omega had a more solid replayability. The orchestra is phenomenal as always.

This band sucks now. I was a fan back before anyone knew they existed.
Yeah, they can play well, etc., yet they turned generic several albums ago.
They sound like they deserve Nuclear Blast, a total corporate crap mainstream label.
