I just watched the video of Rob Burrow getting carried across the finish line of the London Marathon. I don't follow Rugby but that looked very emotional.
At the nation level is is precisely that. At the state level it is hard to apply individually, but we've talked mostly about countries so far, which is technically the wrong term to investigate here.
so does our country and I have a sense of patriotism that goes along with that. But imo equating patriotism at the individual level to nationalism at the state or national level is a false equivalency.
