Greetings my fellow metalheads, and happy new year to you all!

A new year, a new list. 2023 was one hell of a year concerning metal and rock records, and with upcoming releases scheduled so far 2024 is going to become even more exciting!
I hope you will join me In my journey to expand my musical horizon.
This is my favorite metal releases of 2024.

This year I Will be adding country of origin into the album description. I Will also be adding EP’s this year.
Furthermore I will only be adding releases with a “7” rating and above.
I won’t consider a rating below “7” to be among my favorite releases as I won’t be bother listening to it.

Another year begins, same scenario, ranking ordered from favorite down to least favorite. I've no specific target set this year, but it's doubtful I'll reach last year's monstrous amount. I might even throw in the odd EP this time round.

So it begins. 3rd year at MS, 5th year of devoted metal listening. Nothing particularly exciting coming up, but Eternal Storm looks promising, and any new Persefone is a good thing. It's early days after all.

Goal? I made it to 625 albums last year, with a pretty slack first 6 months. Aiming for 800.

Update: This list is officially discontinued, apart from albums that are good enough to warrant multiple listens, aka the top end. There are various reasons for this, but a lot of changes are happening in life and I cannot/do not want to give this much time to every release I can.

One of the real classic heavy metal bands, that has stood strong in 40 years. Their discography is a bit uneven at times but most of the stuff is solid and worth listening to. Real fun project to listen to them all, perfect soundtrack when you are pumping iron.
