Freedom Call is that guy that has just had sex for the first time. Their whole outlook on life has changed, they bask in their freedom to do as they like and are able to take a step back and chill. Legend Of The Shadowking is like no Freedom Call album before it.
The band have thrown caution to the wind and given us something genuinely interesting that has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. Legend Of The Shadowking is Freedom Call feeling the freedom, and is the most diverse, colourful, and cheesy work the band has ever put out.
Better album then the last one was! Brilliant power metal from first song to last but those intros on this album: Why the hell those are in there Theyre so boring and they dont have anything special on them.
Indeed, this sounds like their best album, at least in terms of personality. I'm glad to see that there're bands that are getting better instead getting of worse.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind, cast down into the Halls of the Blind.
I honestly don't think it's that great an album, in contrast to what seems to be the general opinion here. It seems rather tacky and shallow, but maybe it's just me. Here's my full review:
Welcome to a perfect day, a perfect place to be
All the best that life can give, is not good enough for me
Welcome to a perfect time, a perfect unity
The best is only good enough, good enough for me
---- My rest seems now calm and deep
Finally I got my dead man sleep
agreed - it is one of the best FC songs imo...also the last song is awesome...but it is true, that there are couple of quite boring songs in the middle (after more listenings it showed up even to me)
---- My rest seems now calm and deep
Finally I got my dead man sleep
This album for me, finally placed Freedom Call in the premier league of power metal bands. "Eternity" was a great album, and I love it a lot. But apart from that one album, they've always promised far more then they've delivered. I honestly didnt think they had it in them to make another great album, and especially not to top it. But thats exactly what they've done with Legend Of The Shadowking! FC have always lived in the shadow of Dan Zimmermann's other band, Gamma Ray, but for once, GR have been overshadowed by FC. As their latest album is not as good as FC's latest. It sounds like what they should have followed up ''Eternity" with. The sound is similar, but it sounds bigger, more ambitious, and expands on that great sound to create a really awesome album. After so many years of being a 2nd rate power metal band, FC have finally arrived! Hopefully there is more great stuff to come from them. I love this album a lot, so far its my power metal album of the year!
Best power metal album at this time ,Chris has evolved and improved some very cool voice style. Crystal clear production . Songs could have been a little bit longer but this is fine.
Of course "Out Of The Ruins" is the highlight but the whole album is really consistent. Other great tracks are "Resurrection Day", "Tears Of Babylon", "Merlin - Requiem" & "The Darkness". The album is darker and more power metaly than the previous 2.
