When I first saw the cover of this album I thought "Man?another Progressive band ripping-off Dream Theater?Damn" but dear reader I was so wrong. Maniaca is nothing like Dream Theater, this band is not even Progressive (but it's very experimental though), this album combines many genres marvelously. The main vein is Death Metal of course, but then there are Doom Metal atmospheres (just check "Prelude"), I actually heard some Thrash Metal Riffs, the vocal work sounds a lot like Black Metal and the music per se is really experimental (Try "The Immortal", 16 minutes of song) Read more ›› |
