This band's profile is 'invisible', meaning that it's much less prominent on the site - either because it's incomplete, or maybe doesn't entirely fit MS format.

Biography

Gvla was formed in June 2019 when Filious (strings, growls) and Hellzabet (drums) met in between shows and beers in the lively city of Bremen, Germany. Filious is originally from Mexico and spent part of his life playing punk in the USA with the most recognizable project being Un dia más. Hellzabet is originally from Portugal and has been listening to BM since the end of the 90s, and played in small grunge and blues projects.

The concept of the band’s art and lyrics is linked to the thematic of the seven deadly/capital sins. The band uses the concept of the “sins” as a reflection about the personal accountability of people in the social and political aspects of current and past societies. There is also a strong interest in sciences disguised as alchemy and pagan rituals. Gvla (spelling: gula) is gluttony in Latin, and Ira is wrath. More specifically, one was chosen as also a praise to the pleasures of life, and the other as a critic to the shameless continual rise of fascism and warmongering in the world.
