This ain't no pussy thing. It's colossal, uncompromising and it's one of those ferocious, filthy ones that makes you crave for a constant rough aural satisfaction.
Been listening to this album quite a bit lately. It's a shame it isn't getting more recognition.
The ones who know where the quality music is hiding, will definitely check this stuff eventually Of course I'm talking about doom sympathizers in majority.
That's probably what I would have gone with (though i hear a fair amount of funeral doom in it too).
but this isn't funeral doom, because it sounds nothing like the generic, mostly Russian, funeral doom a certain user more or less only recognizes as funeral doom

How the hell do you guys listen to this stuff? I just checked this album on YT to see what all the fuss was about and it's ssssssssooooooooo sssssslllllllloooooowwwwwww. How do people write/record this stuff without falling asleep during practice/recording (especially the drummer!)...

[Insert random mockery because I've read/heard this too many times to come up with anything new]
Also... Sometimes I dare say making this stuff is far more challenging and harder that most fast brutal/technical death metal around. Oh, and I believe you are exaggerating a little bit. Trust me, there's way slower stuff than this, only proving you don't know much of this stuff.

Not only is there way slower stuff than this (Funeralium's debut album for isntance is way slower) but every song also contains quite a few up tempo parts. So, clearly not listened to the entire album

No I didn't listen to it front to back, just skipped around so I must've landed on all the slow parts.
@Rod No, I don't know much about this stuff and yes I was just "poking the bears". This kind of stuff just isn't my thing, I keep trying it out every now and again, especially at times like this when I see you guys get up in arms over bands like Funeralium here but it never really grabs me. I don't like all fast stuff and I do like some of the slower things (not quite this slow of course ) and in general I prefer faster bands than this (I will admit though that I quite liked some of the tremolo sections I heard in my skipping around ).
Marcel inspired me to check out Faal, for example, and I quite enjoyed their latest album; haven't checked out the first one though.
5 minutes in and already sounding amazing. Not even close to boring by means, perfect balance from the sound and great execution to keep this engaging.
Slightly disappointing by this. The debut is superior to this in every aspect. This album is just not as nasty as one would expect after brilliant s/t.
Goddamn this album is good. Played through the debut and this one today and I can safely say I disagree with MZ. While I love both of them, I definitely think Deceived Idealism is superior to the S/T
