I live on a very multicultural street, mostly dominated by Romanian, Slovakian and Polish people, all are fine and I get on with them. It's only a minority that are the problem and they tend to be young English

Lately, I have been listening to a lot of occult/psychedelic metal and rock, especially by female fronted bands. The most recent one was Jess and the Ancient Ones and I quite liked what they had to offer.
The music is fun and catchy with a nice retro sound. While a few of the songs were somewhat bland and repetative, the majority of them were really enjoyable with the highlights being "Sulfur Giants" and "The Devil". The singer has a good and diverse voice which is a bit shaky at times but it was nothing that bothered me notably.
Jess and the Ancient Ones self-titled debut is definitively an album I will revisit if I ever feel like listening to some solid and easily digestible occult rock.
yeah, pretty much. makes me long for the creativity of Jex Thoth... and i am not sure what is worse, the cult of personality adopted to female fronted bands or anyone with testes drooling the second a woman fronts a metal band.
i guess it just proves that dudes are no better than the screaming pre-teen chicks getting their panties wet to the Beebs.
Hmm, not sure which is worse, the erroneous, cliche metaller knee-jerk Bieber comparison or the continued misapplication of Weber's sociological / political paradigm (after all I doubt anyone would know of "Jess" as an actual personality without "and the Ancient Ones" tagged on the end of it, unless the definition of "cult of personality" now extends to anyone simply owning a vagina).
And apparently my own sexual organs should make the wealth of femme-fronted symph-goth-power metal bands most appealing to me. Any suggestions people?
Great album though, glad to see it's doing well with many of the (other) staff too. People should check out the new EP, which is also rather nice.
I can listen to "Sulfur Giants" and "13th Breath Of The Zodiac" plenty a times due to these songs are actually really good. The whole 50+ minutes can be a drag though , and I have to admit I haven't listened to the whole of it for more than maybe two times. I'm thinking maybe old schooler production might be beneficial to this kind of music?
