AltarEgo (formerly known as Altar) is a death metal band originating from the Netherlands. In 2016, Marcel Verdrumen (one of the former members) decided to bring Altar back to life and gathered four new faces around him. Bas Karman on guitar, Martin Bruinewoud on bass guitar, Erwin Koerts on drums, and Janneke de Rooy on vocals. Early 2018, the band released their music video for ' Unfinished Business': and at the end of 2018 they decided to change the band name to AltarEgo to further distance themselves from the other Altar.
