Biography
Formed in 2009, REASON is the brainchild of ex-Vandamne/Fyrebyrds/Empire/Crywolf guitarist & songwriter Chris Gyngell and vocalist Paul Mace. The bands mission is to refine the greatest elements of melodic & progressive hard rock & metal into expansive yet direct & powerful songs; something born of the all-time classics, presented with an up-to-date energy and sentiment.
Online promotion of REASON began in late 2009, and immediately brought a great deal of attention worldwide. The band's sound somehow transcended many genres of rock and metal music, and received acclaim from all directions. By mid-2010, REASON's song inventory was considerable, and to use a famous phrase 'All killer and no filler'.
In June 2010, REASON were contacted by U.S. production legend Beau Hill. Beau had checked out REASON's web page and liked what he heard. The band are huge admirers of Beau's work, and an agreement was quickly made for Beau to remix a demo track for promotional purposes. The song 'Rise' was selected due to its' concise, powerful and extremely melodic qualities, and Beau set to work? listen to the track, and you can hear the result!
In November 2011, REASON signed to Alienation Records (Sweden), and their debut album 'The Darkest Star' was released in December 2011 to great critical acclaim.
2014 saw Reason release a 3-track digital EP "Beyond The Dark Horizon" also to great critical acclaim, followed by the digital single " Heart Song", which has eclipsed virtually everything in the independent stakes with its' airplay on worldwide rock radio.
In late 2014, Reason signed to their second record label, Skyrocket Records, and released a brand new full-length album "The Deception Of Dreams" in January 2015. The album received more critical acclaim, whilst also being picked up for airplay by 190 FM & internet radio stations worldwide.
After a break from recording & live work during 2016 & 2017, REASON have returned in 2018, and are commencing live shows, and working on new material.....
