Biography

Shakran was formed in Israel in 1998 by drummer Erik Istaharov, guitarist Peter Ashurov, keyboardist Dmitry Ishakbaev and bassist Saar Anek. All these musicians are virtuoso professionals and everyone writes music for Shakran songs. Soon later Vladie Martynenko was recruited as a singer and lyrics writer.

After few gigs in local clubs band decided to work with new singer and second guitarist Michael Bartfeld. Festivals and concerts bring to Shakran a lot of experience and live demo records. In middle of 1999 M.Bartfeld left Shakran and moved to live in USA.

New singer and multi player Michael Rosenfeld expanded boards of vocal parts and find a perfect balance with instrumentals. Shakran continued to perform and preparing to record their first album. In 2000 keyboardist D.Ishakbaev left the band. But nothing can stop Shakran.

Album "Message number 1" was created between almost everyday terrorist attacks of second Intifada (2000-2001) in GEM-studio. All keyboard parts was recorded by bassist Saar Anek and singer Michael Rosenfeld. Band appeared few times on local Television.

In the end of 2002 Saar Anek temporally left Shakran and Evgeny Vladimirov replaced him for a few weeks on a bass. Shakran changes his name to Messer.

After recording of 3 new singles in 2003 and few concerts Michael Rosenfeld accidently lost his ability to sing after pneumonia. His attempts to repair the voice was failed during almost a year and Shakran members decided to separate the band.

Between 2004 and 2008 was few attempts to reunite the Band - Shakran members appeared together on TV and festivals, until in 2009 they decided to make a true Reunion with old members and old name Shakran and with a new keyboard player - Simon Shmin.

In 2009 band recorded 3 singles in studio. In 2010 live concert in Sublime-club was multi-track recorded and filmed on few cameras for promo-DVD production, called "Live in Tel-Aviv 2010". And in February of 2011 was completed studio single "Mirror".
